The Helax project is located nearby harbour facilities in the port of Salina Cruz, with proximity to Panama. The Mexican administration aims to develop an Atlantic-Pacific corridor through the isthmus. 

The Helax project will be built in multiple phases and comprises an estimated 1.2 GW of wind capacity and 2.5 GW of solar generation to supply a 2.1 GW electrolyser, which will produce 900,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually.
