For green ammonia, the electrolysis process splits water into hydrogen with the use of renewable electricity. To process hydrogen into ammonia, nitrogen is required, which is abundantly available in air and can be extracted with an Air Separation Unit.

The nitrogen and hydrogen are combined in the Haber Bosch Synthesis loop.
